Our Resplendence Exhibition runs from November 2024 to 7 January 2025 (please see our events page for more details).   This is a fabulous exhibition of work from our own mmbers:

At our October meeting, Gail Lawther, quilter, textile artist, author 
and speaker/tutor took us on a Trip Around the World, showcasing

her quilts inspired by her travels.

On Tuesday, 10 September 2024, Amanda Cobbett gave a very 
informative talk titled 'Embroidering The Forest Floor' and below is a 
picture of Amanda and her very life like work. 

On 14 August 2024 we held a Marvellous Makers Craft Afternoon at Reigate Library as part of their Summer Reading Challenge.  Children could stitch a bookmark or book cover.

On Saturday 15 June, we held two embroidery taster sessions at Reigate Library as part of Reigate Summer Festival.  During the morning, a group of children made decorative elephants and during the afternoon, adults stitched paradise birds:

1 Preparing tissue for gluing on the elephant
2 Covering the elephant with glue and tissue
3 Fabric & sequins for elephant blankets
4 Starting to stitch

Diana McKinnon was our speaker on 11 June - Photographic Inspiration. Diana manipulates and deconstructs fabric which she then works on to create a variety of pictures based upon her photographs.  Below are some pictures of her work:
