DIVA celebrates the power and creativity of iconic performers, exploring and redefining the role of 'diva' and how this has been subertverted or embraced over time across opera, stage, popular music and film.

The Fabric of Democracy: Propaganda Textiles from the French Revolution

This exhibition explores printed propaganda textiles over more than two centuries, from the French Revolution to Brexit.

Exploring how fashion phenomenon Biba blossomed to become the world's first lifestyle label.

South East England World Textile Day 2024
 

Textiles, clothing and artefacts from artisan makers across the globe. Exhibition and sale of fair trade textiles plus a talk at 11am by John Gillow on The Textiles of Pakistan.  Entry to the exhibition and sale is free, a fee is applicable for the talk.

The Spring Textile Stash Sale
 

A stash sale is where people book a table from which to sell items from their stash of fabric, haberdashery, yarn, books, threads etc.

The Sussex Guild Contemporary Craft Show

The exhibition will take place in the Chapel and Old Dining Hall in the Gothic style red brick building.  Exquisite hand made work will be on view and available to purchase plus the chance to speak with the makers.  

​

The College cafe will serve light lunches and refreshments.

Sewing/Crafting sessions as part of Reigate Summer Festival

Drop-in workshops run by East Surrey Textile Group as part of Reigate Summer Festival.

10am - 12 noon - a sewing/crafting session for children of school age (accompanied by an adult) making an elephant with a decorated blanket if they are able to stay for the full session, or if time is short, they can make bookmarks or badges/brooches.

​

2pm - 4pm - a 'taster' activity workshop for adults creating paradise birds using simple applique and embellishment with threads.

​

One day only

The Festival of Quilts
 

The Festival of Quilts was launched in 2003 in partnership with The Quilters’ Guild. 20 years on and it is now the biggest quilting show in Europe, featuring hundreds of quilts, workshops, talks, one of the world’s largest quilt competitions and a huge range of quilt materials and brands to shop from.
